Statement of Faith

1.     We believe The Holy Bible to be the divinely inspired Word of God, and it is a perfect treasure of heavenly instruction; that it has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth without any mixture of error, for its matter.  It is the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and opinions should be tried.

2.     We believe in One True God, revealed to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, each with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence and being.

3.     We believe that Man was created by the special act of God, in a state of holiness under the law of his maker, but through the temptation of Satan, he transgressed the command of God and fell from his original holiness and righteousness; whereby his posterity inherit a nature corrupt, sinful, under condemnation, and as soon as they are capable of moral action, become actual transgressors.

4.     We believe that the Salvation of sinners is wholly grace through Jesus Christ, the Son of God,       who by the Holy Spirit was born of the Virgin Mary and

  • a.     Took upon Himself our nature yet, without sin

  • b.     Honored the divine law by His obedience

  • c.     Made atonement for our sins by His death

  • d.     Rose from the dead and is now enthroned in heaven

5.     We believe that by and through the death of Jesus Christ all who believe in Him are justified and in a state of blessed peace and favor with God.

6.     We believe that the blessings of Salvation are made free to all by the gospel.  Nothing prevents the salvation of the greatest sinner except his own voluntary refusal to accept Jesus Christ as Teacher, Savior, and Lord.

7.     We believe that Regeneration or the new birth is a change of heart wrought by the Holy Spirit.  This change results in:

  • a.     A Divine Nature

  • b.     A Holy Disposition

  • c.     Love and Practice of Righteousness

It is the work of God’s free grace conditioned upon faith in Christ and show to the world by the fruit we bear to the Glory of God.

8.     We believe that Repentance and faith are sacred duties, and also inseparable graces, wrought in our souls by the regenerating Spirit of God.

9.     We believe that Election (called of God) is the gracious purpose of God, according to which He regenerates, sanctifies, and saves sinners.  It is a most glorious display of God’s sovereign goodness, and is infinitely wise, holy, and unchangeable.

10.  We believe that Sanctification is the process by which, according to the will of God, we are partakers of His holiness.  It is progressive: began in regeneration; it is carried on in the heart by the power and presence of the Holy Spirit by the continual use of:

  • a.     The word of God

  • b.     Self-examination

  • c.     Self-denial

  • d.     Watchfulness

  • e.     Prayer

11.  We believe that those who are willing to endure unto the end have a special Providence-who watch over their welfare, and they are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation.

12.  We believe that a Visible Church of Christ is a congregation of baptized believers, associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel; observing the ordinances of Christ; governed by His laws; and exercising the gifts, rights, and privileges invented in them by His word; that its only scriptural officers are bishops, pastors, elders and deacons, whose qualification, claims and duties are defined in Epistles to Timothy and Titus.

13.  We believe that Christian baptism is the Immersion in water of a believer, in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit; and the Lord’s Supper, in which the members of the Church, by the sacred use of bread and wine are to commemorate together the dying love of Christ-preceded always by solemn self-examination.

14.  We believe that Christian Education is enlightenment and intelligence.  In Jesus Christ are all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.  All sound learning is therefore a part of our Christian heritage.

15.  We believe that the scriptures clearly teach that Jesus Rose from the Dead.  His grave was emptied of its contents.  He appeared to the disciples after His resurrection in many convincing manifestations.  He now exists in His glorified body at God’s right hand.  There will be a resurrection of the dead.  The bodies of the righteous will conform to the glorious spiritual body of Jesus.

16.  We believe in the Visible and Personal Return of Jesus to this earth.  It is the duty of all believers to live in readiness for His coming by diligence in good works to make manifest to all men the reality and power of their hope in Christ.

17.  We believe that in the last day the wicked will be adjudged to endless judgment, and the righteous to endless joy; and that this judgment will fix forever the final state of men in heaven or hell, on principles of righteousness.  To be slow to take offense, but always ready for reconciliation, and mindful of the rules of our Savior, to secure it without delay.

  • We believe that the term “marriage “has only one meaning and that is Marriage Sanctioned by God which joins one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture (Gen. 2:19–24, Lev. 18:22, Matt. 19:4–6, Rom. 1:18–27, Eph. 5:22–23, Heb. 13:4).

  • We do not judge people for their behavior, but this church will not perform any ceremony or allow any celebrations for same sex marriages.  This is in accordance with the scriptures (Romans 1:16-32 of the Holy Bible NKJ Version).  The Bible defines this behavior as sinful, and this church will not compromise its commitment to the Word.

  • We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ.

  • We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity.  Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed towards an individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with scripture nor the doctrines of the church.
